Celebration of Nova Scotia Country Music in Truro in September

Tickets are still available for Nova Scotia’s premiere country music event in Truro on Saturday, September 14. Three generations of country music will be celebrated as four individuals are inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame. Cecil MacDougall of Dartmouth, John Snyder of Enfield, Bob McDonald of Dartmouth, and Clayton Lewis of Weymouth are this year’s inductees. Each will perform in a showcase concert, backed up by 2019 Hall of Famer Ruth Manning and her band, The Prospectors.

Hall of Fame President, Roger Bleasdale has announced more details of the program. “One of the oldest members of the Hall of Fame, 90 year old Shelia Newman, will perform accompanied by her daughter Jo-Ann Newman,” he said. “And, from a younger generation, the popular sister duo, the Jovial Joes will be performing. All in all, it will be a great celebration of country music and I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

Tickets are just $60 and include a full course turkey dinner, the induction ceremony, plus the concert showcasing some excellent country music by Nova Scotia performers.
