John Snyder

Over several decades, John Snyder has developed a solid reputation as a performer and entertainer. For 21 years he was lead singer and front man for his band “Fandango” entertaining throughout the local bar and cabaret circuit in Nova Scotia. During this time he was privileged to open for such well known acts as Emerson Drive, Aaron Pritchett and Julian Austin.

In 1992 John won the Bud Country Talent Search gaining him the opportunity to advance to the Nationals as Nova Scotia’s representative. He was twice nominated Top 10 on CMT’s Kareoke Star and twice nominated as male vocalist of the year by the Nova Scotia Country Music Association.

In 2007 John appeared in the Nova Scotia Special Olympics Concert at the Rebecca Cohn. Since 2010 he has performed at numerous country music festivals, such as: Five times at the Fox Mountain Country Music Festival, twice at the Yarmouth Coal Shed Music Festival and twice on the Nova Scotia Country Music Awards show, plus numerous country shows throughout Nova Scotia in support of local charities and events, to name a few.

John has also been privileged to be part of Matt Balsor’s 2018 Tribute to Mel Tillis Concert and was a guest on Matt’s 2019 Christmas Concert. He has also appeared several times on local cable TV from the Old Favourites Bar in the Penhorn Mall, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

John has recorded several full-length classic country CDs at Sadie’s Place, a recording studio in Herring Cove, N.S. His CDs receive regular play on Seaside FM out of Eastern Passage and two of John’s songs recorded as part of a Nova Scotia Country Music compilation CD receive air play on several radio stations in Europe. John has been interviewed by Ken Packim on Country 101 and has appeared four times on the Country 101 live show from Little Nashville.

John has always maintained, and continues to maintain, a high level of professionalism in his music. He appears as the strong country embassador that he truly is. Well respected in the country music field, young performers, new-comers and seasoned artists alike look up to John as an example of what true country is. John says and truly believes that: “No performer is better than anyone else....all are at different levels in their musical journey”. A motto that puts others at ease and gives them courage to do the best they can in their varying levels of expertise and varying stages of their careers.
